State Senator Tom Cullerton Endorsed by Illinois Educators

Villa Park – State Senator Tom Cullerton is proud to announce the endorsements of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association (IRTA), the Illinois Education Association (IEA), and the Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT), three groups representing educators in the state. Cullerton earned the endorsements of these associations because of his dedication to improving education in Illinois.

“It is a great honor to have the endorsements of IFT, IRTA, and IEA. I am especially proud of these endorsements because strengthening Illinois’ schools has been one of my highest priorities as a public servant,” Cullerton said. “Illinois educators know that they can trust me in the state legislature.”

“On behalf of the Illinois Federation of Teachers, we are proud to support Tom Cullerton for State Senate,” said IFT President Dan Montgomery. “Senator Cullerton understands the importance of adequate school funding, voting to increase it at every opportunity and helping to pass a bill banning golden parachutes for terminated administrators, freeing up those public funds for our classrooms. In just his first term, he has shown a strong commitment to our teachers and staff, and we look forward to continuing our work together to provide the schools our students deserve.”

The Illinois Federation of Teachers represents 103,000 teachers and paraprofessionals in PreK-12 school districts throughout Illinois, faculty and staff at Illinois’ community colleges and universities, public employees under every statewide elected constitutional officer, and retirees.
